What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?
I work with women, youths and MSMEs from grassroots and marginalized communities, so I will be able to describe these communities and the available technologies that exist there to my mentorship. This will also contribute to me learning more about other technologies and innovations that can be adopted in such communities. If this mentorship plans to expand to Zimbabwe and implement projects, I will be their point of contact for them to better understand the landscape.
The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship
- How to upscale my social impact venture.
- Improvement in public speaking and leadership skills.
- Digital skills development and innovative ideas that can be implemented by small to medium-sized enterprises.
Mentorship Characteristic
- Visit an office or attend a site-visit
- Focus on leadership skills building
- Present my current work to professionals in my industry
- Expand on a project that I’m working on in my current role at home
- Exposes me to new tools and platforms
Ideal Company Type
I would like to expand my technical skills and knowledge in digital transformation, digital skills development and digital marketing fields. Technology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area will be a perfect fit for me as I would like to participate in industries that push tech-based innovations for products, processes and social impact. I want a company that offers exposure for me to learn more about business development as I aim to improve my leadership and communication skills to allow me to mentor and coach girls in my country.
What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?
- Hardworking
- Ambitious
- Team player
What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?
My focus is on the growth of my social impact venture and to see it exist in all 10 provinces of Zimbabwe. I am looking at launching tech hubs in these areas to make sure the project can beneficially impact more lives. Having a mentor will help me to have a clear growth strategy. It will help me acquire business development skills and, above all, since I am passionate about mentorship and coaching, I will also be able to mentor and coach women, girls and MSMEs in my country effectively and efficiently.
After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?
I love telling stories and sharing stories of change. During and after the TechWomen experience, I aim to share what I've learned and influence women, youths and MSMEs to adopt this knowledge from the program. I grew up without access to technology, no access to information, nor any mentorship and career guidance. I endured to become a solution to communities without access to technology. I hope to share and encourage those communities to adopt technology. My passion for digital skills development will be more impactful and allow communities to grow their companies and careers as well.
