What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

My most valuable contribution is my passion for my industry and, most importantly, for people. In every space I occupy, I contribute fully what I have to offer; it can be skills, time, support or anything that is needed and as within my reach to offer. I am motivator with a positive energy and attitude. I have extensive data, analytics, and technical skills and am always willing and ready to use them at the service of others. I am a mobilizer, collaborator and goal chaser, no task is too small when I work in team towards a common goal.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Strategy Formulation and Implementation
  2. People Management/Leadership
  3. How AI tools/models are developed and used

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Present my current work to professionals in my industry
  • Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company

Ideal Company Type

I am interested in learning how to lead large teams with a variety of skill sets and levels to deliver cutting edge solutions. I would like to learn how generative AI can be used in the data & analytics field and other areas to improve the way humans work and how to build AI tools. I am also interested in learning how to run an organization successfully with minimal resources so that I can expand the reach of my not-for-profit organization to more people in Africa.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Reliable
  2. Passionate
  3. Resilient

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

My hope is that my collaboration with a US- based mentor will help me advance in my leadership skills so that I can be equipped as I grow as a female leader in data & analytics. I am hoping to learn more about how to form a strategy and implement it with limited or plentiful resources and overcoming challenges. I hope to mature as a leader and build the necessary skills to lead people at various stages of their careers. I hope to grow to a position of more influence after this program where I can influence change.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After participating in the TechWomen project, I will apply the skills learnt to strategize and identify areas of opportunity in my organization and industry to explore them with the goal of making quality healthcare accessible to ordinary South Africans. I will use skills learnt to build advanced data analytics and AI products that will improve healthcare access in my organization and industry-wide. I will apply the knowledge to grow my not-for-profit organization by optimizing every resource and collaboration to assist more people to access and secure data careers.
