What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?
I believe that this mentorship program will provide me with a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience operational renewable energy and industrial automation technologies not yet adopted in Zimbabwe. This will help me actualize my theoretical understanding and equip me with the expertise to contribute towards renewable energy infrastructure and policy development. This program also presents a platform for quality networking through interaction with participants from across the world and mentors with massive experience. I hope to be inspired and hence be tenacious in the pursuit of building Zimbabwe and ultimately, mentor and inspire the next generation of TechWomen.
After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?
Zimbabwe has a lot of ground to cover in terms of technological advancement, predominantly in the energy management and auditing areas. In-depth understanding and design expertise for massive Renewable energy systems is at a minimal, implying great room for massive take-up. I believe the TechWomen experience will equip me with the technical and leadership competence to facilitate and implement alternative energy generation projects to augment the existing power shortages in Zimbabwe. My background in thermal power generation will help me implement 'green power generation' solutions that will operate in harmony with the existing transmission and distribution infrastructure.
