What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

I hope to be able to share my expertise in social entrepreneurship, disability inclusion, public health and broaden their stakeholder engagement with my networks of entrepreneurs, health professionals and software engineers.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Venture capital building, fundraising and startup ecosystem management.
  2. Technical product management and best practices.
  3. How the maternity and birth consultations and approaches improve positive pregnancy and childbirth experiences and outcomes and can reduce maternal mortality rates.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Participate in a skills-building course, either provided by my mentor’s company or identify a free resource online
  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Present my current work to professionals in my industry
  • Expand on a project that I’m working on in my current role at home

Ideal Company Type

The ideal host company for my mentorship is a Software Technology company that is well structured, with a large employee size and a designated unit and department for Product Managers. I hope that the company would offer the best practices in latest agile methodologies/practices and offer me the opportunity to learn from them and grow in my career in Technical Product management. I would be interested to work with a company that has a startup ecosystem and manage a venture building business so that I can learn best practices in venture building practices and startup ecosystem management. This will enhance my expertise in building the startup ecosystem I founded for entrepreneurs with special needs and build Venture funding for them.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Creative
  2. Trustworthy
  3. Empathetic

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

The proposed collaboration and contribution of the TechWomen mentorship means a lot to me. I look forward to taking giant strides in my career especially as in my transitioning to Software Engineering as a technical product manager. I look forward to getting practical assistance with building a venture ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs with special needs and other disadvantaged and neglected business owners.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

In order to leverage my TechWomen experience to impact my home country, I would make use of the knowledge, skills, experience and networks gained to continue to build a vibrant inclusive entrepreneurship community that includes persons with disabilities and other entrepreneurs with special needs to further work with them to scale their businesses through tech and venture building and export of their products and services. I would also work with women in the Tech industry to strengthen tech entrepreneurial growth and business development to bridge the gender gap in the tech entrepreneurship and funding. I would seek to promote collaboration among members of the group through training in entrepreneurship and product development and agile practices. I am currently mentoring some of our volunteers to consider a career in Software Engineering. I would leverage this opportunity to reach and train more people, especially women and girls and persons with disabilities.
