What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

Public speaking is one of my best personal strengths. I love the idea of preparing interactive slides and choosing topics that hook the audience through tone of voice, body language and facial expressions to add more meaning, grabbing the audience's attention. I want to leave an impact to the listeners. As a teacher assistant, I am always working on developing my skills in public speaking to be more efficient.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Networking with innovators to gain insight on the latest technologies in the geoscience field.
  2. Developing leadership and communication skills.
  3. Project management and business growth tips.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Focus on technical skills building
  • Expand on a project that I’m working on in my current role at home
  • Have exposure to specialized industry techniques
  • Exposes me to new tools and platforms
  • Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.

Ideal Company Type

I would like to be subjected to a practical experience in project management strategies and to learn more about how to incubate projects and launch startups in the Geoscience Field. In addition, I would like to gain experience in geoscience research by advancing and developing my technical and personal skills. Moreover, I would like to build connections with professionals who can help support my goal of becoming an outstanding professional with a recognizable impact.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Determined
  2. Ambitious
  3. Outgoing

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

Having a professional mentor towards my career will help guide me to the right path as a researcher and help inspire me to start up projects. I want my ideas to grow through this mentorship as different points of view will help broaden my perspective. In addition, this program will help in the development of my technical and personal skills. It will give me the chance to be up to date on the newest technologies and create networks relevant to my field. By the end of this program, I hope it will help me become an attractive and effective researcher and speaker who has a lasting impact on others.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

I am currently teaching more than 3,000 students and after the TechWomen mentorship, I hope to keep transferring ideas, advice and technology to my students and colleagues to motivate them to think big. I aspire to make workshops and seminars at my university to illustrate all I learned from the TechWomen program. In addition, I am a member of Al-Amal Internship program that gathers more than 600 geoscientists from universities around Egypt. I want to participate with the university troops to share my research findings in science and illustrate new ideas. I also have networking connections to my past volunteering work through Bibliotheca, I want to be in touch with them to share my whole experience.
