What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

I believe that different cultures impact each other's in a positive way. There will always be room to brainstorm ideas, exchange knowledge, conduct constructive debates, learn about each country specific culture and strengths. I come from a country suffering from the worst economic crisis in the history. As a Lebanese woman, I am proud to say that my resilience, ambition and determination are my strengths. I am eager to learn, implement and achieve.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Exposure to new technologies.
  2. Business building development and entrepreneurship skills.
  3. Public speaking skills.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Have exposure to the company culture
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Present my current work to professionals in my industry
  • Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company
  • Exposes me to new tools and platforms

Ideal Company Type

My plan is to set up my business, build it and scale it in addition to having some knowledge on new technologies that are shaping the business world. To be able to do that, I need mentorship and help from people who started their businesses from scratch, learned from their failures and achieved through perseverance, discipline and determination. Honesty, inclusivity, integrity, motivation and innovation are what I value most in any company's culture. It is understandable if I feel comfortable choosing companies related to the pharmaceutical industry, but I might as well learn a lot if exposed to other sectors.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Determined
  2. Outgoing
  3. Organized

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

I believe that mentorship is a two-way relationship, because the mentor genuinely wants to help and see the mentee succeed. On one hand, getting valuable objective feedbacks and advice, making new contacts and expanding my network, providing me with new insights and perspectives related to career decisions are keys to my future success. On the other hand, putting effort in learning and implementing from my side will reward the mentor because the ultimate life purpose is to transfer knowledge.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After getting this valuable opportunity, I am intending to make the most out of it. Here, in my home country, there are lot of women who have huge capacities but are limited by their circumstances. I am hoping to create job opportunities for these women by leveraging the TechWomen network and experience through starting my own business project. This project will have a great impact on the society that I am part of whether socially or economically.
