Shahed Nabeel Mohammad Al-khateeb

What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

With a solid foundation in computer vision for early pest identification, I contribute my knowledge of AI applications for agricultural and environmental sustainability. My research and communication abilities have improved as a result of my experience with academic publications in artificial intelligence. I can offer advice on creating AI solutions that are suited to regional issues in the area. To promote significant AI advancements that help marginalized populations, I intend to actively participate by sharing ideas, encouraging teamwork and gaining knowledge from a variety of mentors and peers.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. AI application in smart agriculture and integrating AI with sensors and IoT.
  2. Patent registration and commercialization.
  3. Exploring AI investment and startup strategies.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Attend company-wide meetings and/or team meetings
  • Focus on technical skills building
  • Expand on a project that I’m working on in my current role at home
  • Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company
  • Exposes me to new tools and platforms

Ideal Company Type

My ideal mentor works for a mid-to-large technology business or a research organization that specializes in artificial intelligence, notably in agriculture, environmental sustainability or healthcare. I'm looking for a mentor with expertise designing AI solutions that include computer vision, sensors and data analysis. I value a collaborative, inventive and impact-driven culture that promotes mentoring and information exchange. I'd appreciate advice on growing AI initiatives, protecting intellectual property and navigating the global technology industry. Ideally, my mentor has expertise in both technical leadership and developing AI-powered solutions that address real-world problems.

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

I hope the 15-day mentorship program will help me enhance my AI software development skills, with a focus on practical applications in environmental sustainability and agriculture. I aim to build a professional network dedicated to integrating AI into food security through applied scientific research, learn how to innovate successfully and attract the necessary funding. Furthermore, this mentorship will help me enhance the quality and relevance of my scientific research. This will accelerate my goal of developing sustainable and effective AI solutions that benefit communities.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After TechWomen, I plan to use the skills and knowledge I obtain to improve AI-driven solutions in agricultural and environmental sustainability in Jordan. I intend to provide best practices for AI development, innovation and community. By strengthening my network and encouraging cooperation, I hope to provide farmers with affordable AI solutions that boost production and sustainability. My objective is to promote the use of AI for social and environmental impact across the country.
