Building thoughtful tech to empower the voices and lives often left behind

Fatima Ahmad

What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

I hope my most valuable contribution will be the energy, curiosity and genuine commitment I bring to every collaboration. I love connecting dots across ideas, people and disciplines, and I naturally take ownership of making things better, whether it's a product, a process or a team dynamic. I'm deeply intentional about creating space for others, especially those who often go unheard, and I bring both empathy and strategic thinking to the table. More than anything, I thrive in environments of shared growth, and I'm excited to contribute by being fully present, reflective and open to co-creating meaningful change.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Develop global best practices in product management and innovation.
  2. Scale all-encompassing tech across different global markets.
  3. Lead cross-cultural tech teams.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Present my current work to professionals in my industry
  • Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company
  • Exposes me to new tools and platforms
  • Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.

Ideal Company Type

My ideal mentor works in a mid-to-large tech or telecommunications company specializing in digital products for innovative impact, with a strong focus on empowering underserved communities and women. The company values innovation, agility and a strong culture of mentorship and variety. It operates at the intersection of technology, health, education and connectivity, fostering a mission-driven environment with collaborative cross-functional teams. The mentor is likely a seasoned product leader or growth strategist passionate about leveraging tech and telecom infrastructure to create scalable solutions, who encourages co-creation, values data-driven decisions and supports continuous learning and authentic leadership.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Empathetic
  2. Reliable
  3. Collaborative

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

I hope the 15-day mentorship with a U.S.-based mentor will offer fresh perspectives on leading product innovation with a comprehensive, global lens. I'm particularly interested in learning how product leaders in mature markets approach design, growth strategies and data-driven decision-making at scale. This mentorship will also help me explore best practices in managing cross-functional teams, driving 0-to-1 initiatives and embedding impact into core product strategy. Gaining these insights will directly support my goal of leading high-impact, tech-for-good initiatives in emerging markets, while empowering more women and underserved communities through digital tools.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After participating in the program, I plan to channel the mentorship experience into creating more open and impactful digital products in Pakistan. I will integrate the global best practices I learn, especially around ethical design, product scaling and leadership, into my work at SIMOSA to further expand access to digital self-care, healthtech, and edtech solutions. I also intend to mentor and uplift more young women in tech through local communities like Product Soch, and initiate workshops or mentorship circles focused on product innovation for large-scale impact. This experience will help me build stronger bridges between global innovation and local challenges.
