What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

I hope to contribute a unique blend of technical expertise in digital health and a deep commitment to mentorship and learning. My experience building community health solutions in low-resource settings gives me a valuable perspective on creating impact with limited tools. Also, as an active member in the Kenyan tech community, I'm passionate about sharing knowledge, whether through code, writing or speaking, and I hope to contribute to cross-cultural conversations about my experience in this scene. I look forward to exchanging innovative ideas, learning from others and offering insights on how technology can drive change in real-world, community-driven contexts.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Building and deploying secure, scalable cross platform applications.
  2. How to apply AI in learning or health systems.
  3. Enhancing technical leadership and confidence.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Focus on technical skills building
  • Expand on a project that I’m working on in my current role at home
  • Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company
  • Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.

Ideal Company Type

My ideal mentor works in a mid-to-large organization which focuses on either digital health or education technology. They have experience building secure, scalable, cross-platform solutions and preferably using AI to improve learning or health outcomes. I'm especially drawn to mentors who value continuous learning, lead with empathy and have an interest in promoting engagement in underserved communities/locales. A company culture that supports innovation, mentorship and open collaboration would be ideal. I hope to learn from someone who has bridged technology, education and health to drive meaningful change, both professionally and personally.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Driven
  2. Empathetic
  3. Innovative

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

I hope the 15-day mentorship will deepen my technical and leadership skills by exposing me to industry best practices for developing scalable software and AI-driven systems. From working closely with my assigned mentor, I hope to aquire a different perspective on innovation and team dynamics in a global tech environment. I'm eager to gain insights into integrating emerging technologies in digital health and education, while building confidence in communicating these ideas in global environments. This mentorship will also help me to explore new opportunities for impact, expand my professional network, and also improve my approach to mentoring and leading teams.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After the TechWomen program, I will apply the knowledge gained to strengthen digital health solutions that we use to serve marginalised communities in Kenya. I plan to share new technical and leadership practices with my team, helping scale our impact more effectively. On a personal level, I hope to expand my mentorship efforts by creating learning content, hosting workshops, and speaking at local events to inspire and equip more women and youth in tech. By bridging global innovation with local needs, I aim to foster sustainable growth in both healthcare delivery and tech education within my community.
