Meerim Asanalieva

What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

I hope to contribute my expertise in IT project management and business analysis, combined with my experience empowering women through digital literacy programs in Kyrgyzstan. My unique perspective as a female leader in tech from Central Asia allows me to share insights on overcoming regional challenges and fostering inclusive innovation. I'm passionate about collaborative learning and look forward to exchanging ideas that bridge cultural differences, inspire resilience and drive social impact. Through mentorship, I aim to grow while helping others unlock their potential in technology and entrepreneurship.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Learn how AI/ML technologies are applied to drive innovation and social impact.
  2. Explore sustainable and efficient practices in industrial and materials engineering.
  3. Gain practical strategies for managing tech teams and digital transformation initiatives.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Attend company meetings
  • Attend company-wide meetings and/or team meetings
  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Exposes me to new tools and platforms

Ideal Company Type

My ideal mentor works in a mid-to-large tech-driven company focused on digital transformation, innovation or fintech. They are a strategic leader with experience in scaling tech solutions across multiple countries and empowering underrepresented groups, especially women. The company culture values collaboration and innovation for good. I would value a mentor who understands both corporate and grassroots approaches, and who is open to sharing real-world insights on driving change, building collaborative teams and balancing leadership with personal life. A global perspective and passion for mentoring women in tech are key qualities I seek in a mentor.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Strategic
  2. Resourceful
  3. Empowering

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

I hope this 15-day mentorship will deepen my understanding of strategic leadership, board governance and digital innovation in financial services. Learning directly from a U.S.-based mentor will expose me to global best practices and help me explore new approaches to inclusive finance and women's economic empowerment. This experience will support my goal of joining the board of management at Mbulak by strengthening my leadership capabilities, sharpening my strategic thinking and expanding my global network. I also aim to bring back practical insights to drive innovation, improve governance and mentor other women leaders in my community.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After participating in the TechWomen program, I will share the knowledge and skills gained through mentorship by launching community-based training programs for women and girls in digital literacy, entrepreneurship and AI. I will also mentor young women professionals, advocate for inclusive leadership in tech, and use my experience to influence policies that support women in STEM. My goal is to build a strong network of empowered women who drive innovation and economic growth in my country.
