What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

I hope to contribute a unique perspective grounded in leading renewable energy development within emerging African markets, where access and finance challenges require innovative, market-based solutions. My experience working at the intersection of clean energy finance and project development enables me to share practical insights on de-risking investments and fostering equitable energy access. I bring a collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring young women, which I believe will enrich the exchange with diverse cultural and professional viewpoints. Through open dialogue, I aim to foster mutual learning that advances sustainable energy solutions globally.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Learn about innovative energy financing structures.
  2. Learn about power purchase agreements for renewable energy projects.
  3. Gain insights into cross-border electricity trades.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Focus on technical skills building
  • Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company
  • Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.

Ideal Company Type

An ideal mentor would be a senior professional in the renewable energy or energy finance sector, working in a medium-to-large organization focused on power market development, energy trading or sustainable infrastructure investment. The company should be mission-driven, innovative and committed to advancing clean energy access in emerging markets. A collaborative, inclusive and impact-oriented culture is important. I would value a mentor with experience in structuring power purchase agreements, scaling energy solutions and navigating regulatory frameworks—someone who can provide strategic insights on leadership and growing influence in traditionally male-dominated sectors.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Assertive
  2. Innovative
  3. Driven

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

The 15-day mentorship with a U.S.-based mentor will provide invaluable exposure to advanced energy financing models and power market innovations that can be adapted to African contexts. It will help me deepen my skills in structuring complex deals, navigating regulatory challenges and fostering strategic partnerships. This experience will expand my professional network, open doors to collaborative opportunities and enhance my leadership capabilities. Ultimately, it will empower me to drive GreenCo's mission of scaling sustainable energy markets and promote equitable energy access across Southern Africa, accelerating my impact as a leader in the clean energy transition.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After TechWomen, I will apply the knowledge and skills gained to strengthen renewable energy project development and financing in Zimbabwe and the region. I plan to lead initiatives that de-risk investments and expand access to clean power through innovative market solutions like those pioneered by GreenCo. By sharing best practices and mentoring young women in energy, I will foster local talent and promote equal representation in the sector. My goal is to catalyze sustainable energy growth that supports economic development and climate resilience, helping build a more equitable and prosperous energy future for my community and country.
