What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

As a PhD researcher in chemistry, I would share my experiences in winning an award for the best industrial solution on waste polymer management, as well as ongoing projects for green chemistry. Asian culture is the most intriguing thing I can share with other participants, mentors and collaborators. I have finished the FXB climate advocacy program and COP29 webinar programs, and was a volunteer for the Ecology activity ECONUR here in Uzbekistan; therefore, I could provide significant exchange in eco-volunteering. I am optimistic and open-minded, great at traditional dancing and teaching languages. Overall, I could create a great atmosphere.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Strengthen scientific and technological expertise in green chemistry.
  2. Build a global network for women in STEM and sustainability.
  3. Design and launch a scalable STEM mentorship initiative in Uzbekistan.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Participate in a skills-building course, either provided by my mentor’s company or identify a free resource online
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Focus on technical skills building
  • Expand on a project that I’m working on in my current role at home
  • Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.

Ideal Company Type

My ideal mentor would be a professor or researcher in chemical sciences at a top university, leader of organic synthesis teams at the research centers, or an educator who teaches university students in chemical sciences focused on creating innovative technologies for environmentally friendly chemistry. Furthermore, it would be great if I could always be kept motivated, in control and assisted when I need it. Exploring a new mentorship initiative is one of my expectations.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Driven
  2. Persistent
  3. Meticulous

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

The Techwomen 15-day mentorship will be a professional experience for developing my leadership, mentorship skills, and further applying advanced technologies and innovations. I would inevitably benefit from new opportunities to meet mentors from prestigious companies, to explore engineering industries, scientific research centers and learn about modern laboratory equipment. I will gain the knowledge on how each woman can resist obstacles to improving the sustainability of communities. As a researcher, I would also strengthen my network alongside scientists working in a specific field of science.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

The experience from TechWomen will be leveraged to contribute to changing society and the community. My general purpose is to increase opportunities in my social and professional area, keep the environment cleaner and encourage youth to engage in creating green areas. As a researcher, I aimed to learn new methods and perspectives on green technologies and chemistry. Each skill that I have gained will become a workshop for women in my society and mentorship programs. I will create a website, "Tech and Science for Women," which will cover all girls and women who are interested in.
