Marwa Al Shamy

What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

I bring not only my skills in e-learning and storytelling, but also the soul of an artist, the passion of an educator and a deep belief that knowledge can create a better world. With over a decade of experience designing Arabic content, I aim to share how digital tools can inspire and empower youth, especially in underserved communities. I hope to contribute warmth, creativity and cultural perspective to the mentorship experience, and to learn from others who also believe that education ”with heart”can shape a more just future.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Work towards mastering AI tools for educational content.
  2. Learn strategies for building and engaging a youth community.
  3. Gain exposure to successful models of scalable, sustainable e-learning platforms.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Participate in a skills-building course, either provided by my mentor’s company or identify a free resource online
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Expand on a project that I’m working on in my current role at home
  • Exposes me to new tools and platforms

Ideal Company Type

My ideal mentor works in an innovative, mission-driven organization focused on edtech, sustainability or social impact. They have experience scaling digital learning platforms or community-based education targeting youth and underserved groups. The company values creativity, collaboration and embraces emerging technologies like AI, gamification and digital marketing to improve learning. Ideally, it's a medium to large organization with regional or global reach, committed to environmental and social responsibility. The mentor should have leadership experience in cross-functional teams and a strong passion for empowering young people through sustainable, technology-driven education.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Innovative
  2. Dedicated
  3. Passionate

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

The 15-day mentorship will provide me with focused guidance on integrating advanced AI tools and scalable digital marketing strategies into my sustainable e-learning platform. It will help me develop leadership skills to expand my youth-focused educational content and build a strong, engaged community. Learning from a U.S.-based mentor's experience in innovative EdTech or green technology will open doors to new opportunities and partnerships. This mentorship is a crucial step toward scaling my impact, enhancing my startup's growth and empowering more teenagers with essential sustainable life skills for a better future.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After TechWomen, I will use the mentorship experience to empower educators in Egypt to create high-quality, engaging courses, especially around sustainable life skills for youth. By training them on modern course creation techniques and sharing insights from the program, I will grow my platform's content library and reach. This multiplier effect will enable more educators to go digital, expand access to Arabic educational content and contribute to building a generation equipped with the skills needed for a sustainable and empowered future.
