What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

As an entrepreneur architect-consultant, my hybrid profile helped me develop, in addition to design skills, the ability to manage a project from its early stages to completion and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Working on different types of sustainable projects for local and global individuals and organizations taught me adaptability, communication and different work approaches. Providing innovative solutions and external insight, meticulousness, thinking outside the box and expertise are skills I intend to put to use during this mentorship. I would love to share my experience with my mentor, exchange knowledge, skills and introduce them to Morocco's promising sustainable development initiatives.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Learn about new sustainable design methods, approaches and materials
  2. Use innovative computer aided design programs and useful AI tools
  3. Improve team leadership, time management and planification skills

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Attend company-wide meetings and/or team meetings
  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Exposes me to new tools and platforms

Ideal Company Type

My ideal mentor would be a company in any field within the large construction industry. Whether it specializes in architectural design, urban planning, landscape architecture, real estate or consulting. Medium to large-sized companies with a strong emphasis on sustainability, green technologies, innovative solutions and working on projects of different scales would be the best fit. Ideally, a thriving workplace culture that values collaboration and encourages creativity and breakthrough solutions. A company that can inspire me in expanding my firm back home and empower me as a team leader.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Determined
  2. Innovative
  3. Passionate

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

This immersive mentorship would be the perfect opportunity to develop both my interpersonal and technical skills. It will widen my perspectives, expose me to global-scale and innovative practices that could allow me to seize new opportunities in my firm and strive for larger scale and significance projects. By developing my expertise, I would be more qualified to create sustainable projects that meet international criteria and have a positive impact on community and the environment. I truly believe in the power of connection, collaboration and sharing ideas and know this mentorship will definitely allow me to build a strong network.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

I will adapt green technologies to the Moroccan context such as solar energy, energy efficient buildings, green spaces intergrating indigenous species and water management techniques to protect the environment and improve the quality of life in Moroccan cities. In rural areas, getting more involved in the construction process of ecotourism projects beneficial to local communities and the environment by providing work opportunities and attracting tourists while preserving each site's natural landscape and cultural identity. I also aspire to teach and organize events alongside organizations, schools and institutions to empower women and inspire young girls to consider a career in STEM.
