What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

My most valuable contribution will be my desire for transforming healthcare through Innovation. I bring first-hand experience in navigating the challenges of operating a digital health platform in a resource-limited setting. This insight is invaluable for understanding the realities of implementing health tech solutions where infrastructure and resources are constrained. Also, I am committed to mentoring young women aspiring to enter the health tech field by providing guidance to help them overcome barriers and succeed. In sharing my experiences, I equally hope to offer fellow participants a glimpse into Cameroon's rich culture and traditions.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Project development from design and implementation to securing funding for start-ups.
  2. Explore utilisation of AI tools for better precision in mobile health applications.
  3. Enhance my public speaking and team leadership skills.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Expand on a project that I’m working on in my current role at home
  • Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.

Ideal Company Type

I would love to be mentored by a mid-sized to large organization in the health technology or digital health sector. I admire companies that are all about innovation, care about their employees' well-being and foster a collaborative environment. My ideal mentor would be someone experienced in scaling tech initiatives and who has an understanding of the unique challenges that exist in settings with limited resources. I'd love to learn from someone who is committed to developing leadership skills and building strong professional networks.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Tenacious
  2. Efficient
  3. Compassionate

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

Having a mentor means I can learn directly from someone who has been through the process of scaling a tech initiative. Their day to day insights will be super helpful as I will apply those lessons to my own project. Plus, it will be a great chance to expand my professional network and build relationships that can lead to future collaborations long after the program ends. I am also excited to work closely with a mentor to improve my leadership and communication skills, which are essential for making impact in the digital health space.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After the TechWomen program, I plan to use the knowledge gathered during my mentorship experience in growing and expanding my digital health project, which aims to increase awareness and improve access to family planning resources for women and girls in my country. I plan to connect with other women in the startup space through the TechWomen network, learning from their experiences in creating impact in resource-limited settings, understanding the challenges they faced and how they navigated them. By learning from diverse leadership styles, I aim to sharpen my own leadership skills as I strive for community impact.
