What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

I am a result-oriented person passionate about turning data into useful insights, hence, I will be a driving force to my team in achieving our set goals (objectives) within the time frame, and ensuring that use our time judiciously. I am also a patient and experienced educator, and will eagerly impart relevant knowledge.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Usage of machine learning (supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement) from data collection, model, training and prediction(s).
  2. Data analytics and approaches for gaining insights from data processing.
  3. Innovative skills in public speaking and mentorship.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Focus on technical skills building
  • Have exposure to basic industry techniques
  • Exposes me to new tools and platforms
  • Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.

Ideal Company Type

I would like to gain experience at a company that works with datasets from any sector (such as finance, health, agriculture or any other) with the intention of improving workability using machine learning models. My ideal mentor is experienced with using different machine learning models. From data collection & preprocessing to extracting insights, or from ready datasets, my ideal company works with machine learning algorithms for diagnosis, prediction or exploration of patterns/insights large datasets.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Insights
  2. Dataset
  3. Improvement

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

I will be excited to learn and work with different types of machine learning models, and using them in solving real life problems. A mentor who is experienced Machine learning models and have used different types of MLM in different datasets to solve problem would really add value to my expected new skills, which would enable me explore new opportunities and really help me to reach my career goals.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After participating in the program, I will like to open a Tech-Club starting from the secondary schools around my community, training the new skills I've acquired and helping build an interest in tech starting from a young age. This would also be extended to my place of primary assignment, where I will further organize inter-school competitions. I will make an impact by training youth who will train youth (training the trainer)!
