Fellow leads incubator for rural women in agriculture – Rym Khemiri Moussaoui

11/28/2022

Fellow Rym Khemiri Moussaoui (Tunisia, 2020-2021) recently conducted a second series of trainings for Alyssa Rural Women Incubator (ARWI), a project developed out of the action plan developed by her country team during their TechWomen program.
ARWI aims to contribute to the rehabilitation of the oasis of Douz through the diversification of income-generating sources and resilience to climate change. It achieves this mission by conducting trainings in agro-ecological techniques, hosting awareness workshops on safeguarding oasis biodiversity, visiting with farmers and seed producers, distributing and planting trees, sowing fodder, transforming and recovering scrap dates, and writing educational sheets in Arabic. These ARWI activities are part of the project “Promotion of Oasis Biodiversity in Douz”, financed by the Global Green Grants Fund, and implemented by the Nakhla association in partnership with the female GDA Attahadi in Noueil, Tunisia.

Rym has been leading these trainings in part for Alyssa Rural Women Incubator, which aims to foster women’s autonomy through entrepreneurship.
