The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Bring home a reseller based product or project
  2. Interact with CEO's and Company Innovators
  3. Observe corporate negotiations

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Attend company meetings
  • Attend company-wide meetings and/or team meetings
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company

Ideal Company Type

A company that develops VoIP and database management software aimed for public and private sector use. My company currently provides corporate clients in various industries with contact center and back-office processing services. I believe getting to interact with providers of similar services that integrate elements of voice recognition and other AI, automated data capturing and database management software would create value in my companies growth.

Certifications

  • ICT and Cyber Law, University of the Witwatersrand

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Inquisitive
  2. Passionate
  3. Confident

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

TechWomen will help me position myself as a subject matter expert with the sound reputation of having been there. I am a problem-solver and would like to be known for the ability of commercializing human centric solutions in the ICT space. My digital law background positions me well, however, TechWomen can take me to greater heights. It has the potential of opening avenues that align with my ICT ambitions, by connecting me to organizations that develop the caliber of solutions my company currently recommend.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

The role, platform and mandate I currently have align with those of TechWomen, which is the advancement of participatory rights in the tech industry amongst others. This speaks to my role as National Chairperson of the Internet Governance Forum and the vice president of the UN African Women’s Leadership Network South Africa Chapter. I have a national, regional, continental and global audience waiting to share my TechWomen experience. The work that I currently do has a strong female focus, especially for women in rural and underserved communities.
