What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen host company?

If I happen to be hosted by a construction company, I will bring a partnership deal to the table and share with them my experience in construction. I believe my skills and accomplishments will add great value. I will be committed and loyal to the host team and I will take personal responsibility for my own ongoing professional development. My problem solving abilities allow me to work extremely well under pressure, effectively overcome challenges and be a flexible teammate.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. To learn more about similarities and differences
  2. To achieve my professional goal on becoming more knowledgeable on civil engineering practices, project management and leadership skills
  3. To experience diverse cultures

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Focus on technical skills building
  • Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.

Ideal Company Type

The ideal company for my mentorship would be a construction company which focuses on project delivery that adheres to the stipulated time and budget.

Additional Technical Skills

Project Management skills.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Confident
  2. Reliable
  3. Fastidious

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

I believe the TechWomen program will provide an efficient learning forum that will benefit me and have enormous impact on my career. To achieve my professional goals I will need good communication skills, networking and leadership and I certainly believe I can get all that through my mentorship. This will be done through the transfer of technical skills, which will maximize my efficiency and lead to high performance outcomes in my place of work; I will also advance my professional ethics, pursue big dreams, manage larger ambitious projects, and in turn become an aspiring role model that will inspire women and young girls in my country.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

Through radio and social media I will share my Techwomen experience with other women in the STEM field and hope to start a program with other STEM women and TechWomen fellows which will be a Book for Change Project that will target students in primary schools. The Book for Change Project is a reading program that will encourage students to read and test their knowledge on what they have been learning over the months. I believe this program will help students to develop an interest in reading and encourage excellence because a reading child makes a thinking adult.
