What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen host company?

On behalf of Pakistani people in tech, I can observe and ask questions that really matter. This can be a transformative experience for me and many other brilliant people related to the Pakistani tech-industry. Meaningful interactions always yield positive results. Pakistan has a lot of tech-related talent, but we also have our share of hurdles and issues. Learning and sharing must go hand-in-hand, especially in societies where scarcity of resources is a genuine concern. I believe that I can learn and effectively share my knowledge with many other tech-related people that really desire a positive change.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Enhancing my leadership skills
  2. International market knowledge
  3. I would like to learn more about how I can arrange technical workshops and programs in my local community.

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Attend company meetings
  • Have exposure to the company culture
  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Focus on leadership skills building

Ideal Company Type

I would like to have a mentorship opportunity at an IT company and/or a media enterprise with multiple business segments: media networks, parks and resorts, consumer products, studio entertainment, and interactive media for developing and commercializing market-led technologies. In addition, I would love to be a part of a globally operating company with more than 5,000 employees from diverse cultures working together physically and virtually towards a common goal. I look forward to a progressive corporate culture that welcomes innovation and change. My ideal company provides a nurturing environment where employees feel valued, motivated, and rewarded.

Certifications

  • IBM Design Thinking

Additional Technical Skills

I had been working as a Project Lead of a Synthetic-Data project at my previous workplace. AI in one of their products was trained using a part of my generated datasets. I spent more than eight years working with 3D art and motion graphics. However, when I took over the synthetic-data project, I also learned the basics of python and how to train computer-vision models to better understand the concepts of Computer-Vision. I'm an experienced product visualizer and animator for marketing videos. My portfolio can be viewed online. I'm always excited to explore new projects, experiments, and research.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Ambitious
  2. Passionate
  3. Flexible

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

Learning is a constant passion for me. I don't miss out on any opportunity to learn. My career goal is to excel in Computer Vision, but I would also like to learn about the organizational culture of successful companies. Empowering women in tech is very close to my heart, and I would like to know how it is successfully done. I dream of being part of something big and achieving enough to be considered for the Forbes 30 under 30. But more than that, I would like to impact other people's lives positively.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

I have voluntarily participated in women-in-tech-related events in the past because I believe that learning and relegating knowledge is the key to lasting social change. Pakistani women have a lot of untapped potential. This program will give me the opportunity to explore and share productive ideas with Emerging-Leaders from other countries. I understand that TechWomen has a commitment to supporting the new generation of women leaders in STEM. Whatever I learn from TechWomen will trickle down because my personal goals are tightly aligned with the goals of the TechWomen program. I intend to create viable and sustainable opportunities for women.
