Ideal Company Type
My ideal company for mentorship is a telecommunications or networking company that leverages the latest technological methods to analyze data for strategic decision making. It will be a huge bonus for me if this dream company studies and/or implements blockchain technology as a system of record for tokenization, digital identity and inter-organizational data management. My ideal company can be of any size, as long as it encourages diversity and growth.
Additional Technical Skills
Network monitoring using software like Wireshark; network simulation using OPNET and GNS3
What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?
What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?
First of all, the TechWomen mentorship will sharpen my technical skills as I will be exposed to a more advanced environment flooded with the latest technologies in telecommunications. Also, interacting with my mentor(s) will enable me improve my team spirit, build my network, learn from their hit-and-miss stories and experiences as professionals and enable me lean into the mentor-mentee relationship as I would be able to ask all my "silly" questions freely. Finally, the professional guidance I hope to receive from this relationship will propel me to reach my highest potential as a techie and an entrepreneur.
What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen host company?
My host company is going to benefit from the skills I have developed throughout my professional life like meticulously handling data for further processing such as making strategic marketing and business decisions and/or storage for easy querying. I am a tech enthusiast and my excitement makes me curious, attentive and engaged especially when introduced to new concepts. Besides being efficient in autonomous working conditions, I am a great team member as I have a flair for cheering and motivating people. All these and more, I'll bring to my host company.
After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?
In the short term, I will use the knowledge acquired to improve the efficiency in my current job for greater output. I intend to start a foundation/centre that fosters an interest in STEM among children by exposing them to interactive milieu like interesting experiments, robotics, video gaming and programming in Scratch and Python. I am excited to develop skills that will enable me achieve my dream of building an organization that empowers African women by exposing them to role models and appropriate funding for their business startups.
