What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?
The mentorship will expose me to technology and skills that I can harness to achieve my personal and professional goals. It is an ideal platform to consolidate my vision and gain knowledge on the implementation of projects that provide sustainable solutions for the problems developing countries face. My focus is on the empowerment of women through resolving issues of health, unemployment and disease. The opportunity to interact so closely with a mentor and formulate a project directly aligned with my goals will be an ideal learning experience which enables me to apply myself under the guidance of an experienced individual.
What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen host company?
I am passionate about my career and chosen field. In addition, I approach my work with enthusiasm, passion and perseverance. I am currently employed by an organization that employs micro-encapsulation technology to target malaria, chagas, dengue fever, chikungunya, yellow fever and other disease vectors. I believe I am strategically positioned to create synergies between my host company and organizations such as ours to exploit these technologies and attain a more widespread reach in my home country, in West Africa and on the continent.
After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?
I would like to contribute to viable solutions to alleviate the spread of disease, address unemployment, and to empower and uplift young women in my home country as a role model in STEM. I intend to foster strategic partnerships with interested organizations and individuals. I have identified the Pink Butterfly Trust (of which I am a co-founder) as a vehicle for mentorship programming for young girls in my community. I plan to further my experience in my industry and leverage the experience gained from TechWomen to develop a manufacturing business that commercializes the product lines I intend to develop.
