The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Explore approaches to making science relevant to solving real-life problems.
  2. Learn more about leadership and team motivation.
  3. Better understand the industrialization of science ideas.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Resilient
  2. Persistent
  3. Competent

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

By participating in the TechWomen program, I will be exposed to mentors and other emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds. Every single one of them will be able to teach me a great deal, and I know that I will be impacted by the robust professional networks I will develop in the course of the program. I hope to learn how to successfully conduct research in a low-income economy with next to no government research funds available to senior scientists. I also hope to foster collaborations that will help in my research, as well as in developing WNNR Biotech.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

I will leverage the networks and relationships that I am going to develop at TechWomen by helping the younger scientists in my country to get the help they need. As I am now a member of an influential group of about 700 women, I believe that within the network, there is a wealth of knowledge and resources from whom Zimbabwean girls aspiring to have a STEM career can benefit. I am confident that the training that I will get from the program will make me a better mentor and inspiration to future scientists in my country.
