The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Develop leadership skills and forward-thinking system prototypes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels.
  2. Create a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for a business.
  3. Evaluate, test and recommend new opportunities for enhancing software and analyzing data to inform business decisions.

Ideal Company Type

I would be interested to be hosted by a big company that deals with software. It would be fascinating if it develops software addressing a wide variety of problems rather than being entirely focused on a particular subject. This will allow me to learn how the art of innovation has no limits and see the relationships between the different software that my host company develops. At my ideal company, I would be able to gain insights into the differences and similarities in the kinds of software they develop. I would also like the company to operate with a social mission because I believe in endeavors driven by a social cause.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Hardworking
  2. Honest
  3. Social

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

I have learned that acquiring knowledge and skills never ends and that people should therefore never cease to seek out new knowledge. Moreover, I believe that we learn more from the experiences of others. That is why I greatly look forward to participating in my mentorship and gaining insights from mentors through their stories and advice. I believe their inspiration can act as a consistent guide for me as I continue to write my own story and that of my country. I will be able to share my ideas, get constructive feedback and have a support system for my career.

What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen host company?

I have developed a character of being fully involved in activities I take part in. The first thing I will contribute to my host company is full participation by engaging in discussions, sharing my opinion, and asking questions that would raise further reflection on certain problems that the world is facing. I will also be honored to share with my host company the progress that Rwanda has made in technology. I believe this cross-cultural exchange will be beneficial to me and my host company.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

TechWomen will expose me to multiplex software concepts that I can apply to solve different problems in my home country. With an opportunity to explore renowned companies in Silicon Valley and others, I will be able to attain relevant skills and strategies to solve technology problems in Rwanda. The TechWomen program will also provide me with the ability to find ways to sensitize different companies to enter the modern world by using technology to improve their standard of living. Most importantly, I will share my experience with the Rwandan youth and urge them to think innovatively to solve big problems.
