What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?
TechWomen will act as a catalyst and accelerator of the dreams I have in law and tech, a novel area that lacks mentorship and opportunities in Africa. I'm keen on finding mentors both as a tech policy advocate and as a woman founder who has to constantly reinvent herself and innovate in order to keep her company afloat. I am also keen on furthering my education to improve open access to law through technology. I believe this program will open my eyes to these and more opportunities.
After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?
I will return to Kenya to begin a project on CivicTech and public access to justice by use of technology. TechWomen will increase my learning, exposure and networks; I will work closely with the US Embassy, mentors and YALI cohorts to make these projects a reality.
