What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Professional
  2. High-Achieving
  3. Team-Oriented

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

My mentorship will propel me to constitute a change in the management of environmental health and safety solutions in the organizations that I work for, and further contribute in the development of lean policies and initiatives that supports the sustainability strategy of my country. I will not only learn the technical concepts of environmental and safety compliance, but also the stakeholder engagement concepts in the resolution of non-compliance issues in public and private organizations, as well as governments and government agencies. In Sierra Leone, we don’t have “an arm” that ensures safe and healthy working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards, like it is with Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the US. My overall career goal is to support/drive the development of such an administration in sierra Leone.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

Once I know how to engage different stakeholders in environment health and safety in the world’s largest economy, I will be able to come up with strategies to deploy similar concepts in my country, Sierra Leone. I will do so while paying attention to the needs and requirements of other private and public entities, as well as government departments and government agencies within the country and continent. I will also understand how to interact with multiple organizations and entities in my country and other countries, in the form of exchanging ideas securely and reliably.
