The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Gain in-depth practical experience with the latest innovations in artificial intelligence and data analysis in water management, and learn how tech giants in Silicon Valley innovate, design, and implement solutions based on a data-driven approach.
  2. Learn how to strengthen my communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, as well as my confidence in establishing my own business. Learn how to build a profitable and sustainable, data-driven irrigation in the setting of high demand for industrial irrigation systems such as diesel pumps.
  3. Develop long-term relationships and partnerships with Silicon Valley tech giants and Techwomen for future collaboration in the development of Algerian STEM startups.

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

Today, I find myself at the intersection, wavering on which path to pursue - a career as an entrepreneur or a professor. I have always dreamed of being an entrepreneur. However, I'm reluctant not because I'm insecure or lack inspiration and willpower. I believe the biggest issue is in the culture. Women's success in Algeria is defined as securing a steady job in the public sector with a stable salary and a flexible schedule. This program will allow me to build necessary entrepreneurial skills. Being under the mentor's wing will help me to develop my idea from concept to launch.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

I have two goals: 1) Implement smart irrigation in the Sahara to boost Algeria's agriculture sector and improve working conditions by transforming the manual irrigation process into a novel system focused on green energy and fully automated. I will rely on the tech women program to assist me in turning this idea into a concrete project by providing relevant training and linking me with outstanding experts. 2) Teach programming to children in the Sahara since they do not have access to the facilities and courses related to computer science and coding.
