Ideal Company Type

My ideal company is a large company in tech industry that is integrated both horizontally and vertically, having lots of different departments that have a decentralized decision-making. Its focus is expanding the product types that they offer to satisfy the business demand. The company values innovation and employees' creativity. Its corporate culture is well-established by having frequent team buildings, company cultural events, lunch & learn lectures, etc. The company is open to fresh ideas and implements them by creating special shot-term teams to develop a new product. The company is diverse both for different ages and gender.

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

It will help me learn how different technologies and innovation are applied to conventional industries. I hope that it will also have a positive effect on my self-confidence and soft skills such as public speaking (whether virtual or in-person) and networking. Professionally, I would like to be braver and showcase all of my leadership skills that are valuable to my company. I also believe that mentorship will help me understand how to be a good mentor for myself as I want to take away some tips on coaching and mentoring young girls who want to join STEM disciplines.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

As my country is highly dependent on the oil and gas industry, it is important to satisfy the energy demand while minimizing the environmental impact. I will continue participating in the projects that will help reducing carbon emissions, specifically coming from the processing plants. I would like to learn how digital technology and data-driven decision making can help the energy companies optimize the processes to reduce the routine emissions to the atmosphere. After I learn the digital tools and see how innovative solutions are implemented in other industries, I would like to incorporate those tools and bring a new mindset to my daily work.
