What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?

My most valuable contribution to the TechWomen mentorship will be my expertise in Android development and problem-solving. I can teach advanced mobile app development techniques, share innovative coding practices and offer insights into optimizing app performance. Additionally, my passion for mentoring young girls in tech and my experience in delivering impactful presentations can help inspire and educate my mentor's colleagues. By sharing my experiences from both Rwandan and German tech environments, I can provide diverse perspectives on cross-cultural collaboration and effective strategies for fostering inclusivity in the tech industry.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Mastering Advanced Android Development Techniques
  2. Implementing AI and Machine Learning in Mobile Apps
  3. Enhancing public speaking and leadership skills

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Attend company meetings
  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Participate in a skills-building course, either provided by my mentor’s company or identify a free resource online
  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company

Ideal Company Type

My ideal mentor match would be in the tech industry, specifically within a mid-sized to large company specializing in innovative mobile app development. The company should have a strong focus on cutting-edge technologies, such as AI and machine learning, and a culture that promotes continuous learning and collaboration. It should also prioritize diversity and inclusion, particularly in supporting women in tech. A mentor from such an environment would provide valuable insights into advanced technical practices, leadership skills, and strategies for fostering an inclusive and dynamic workplace.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Hard-working
  2. Dedicated
  3. Communicative

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

Working with a U.S.-based mentor will help me learn the latest trends and best practices in mobile app development. This will improve my skills, expand my professional network, and create new career opportunities. Learning from a mentor who is strong in leadership and innovation will also help me become a better leader and inspire me to make a positive impact in my community. This mentorship will give me the tools to make a bigger difference in the tech industry, especially in promoting diversity and mentoring young women in tech.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After participating in the TechWomen program, I will leverage my experience to launch a project aimed at empowering girls in my home country. I will train 20 young women in advanced coding skills, and these trained women will each visit 20 high schools to teach coding to other girls once a week. This initiative will create a ripple effect, increasing tech literacy and inspiring more young girls to pursue careers in technology. By sharing the knowledge and skills gained from TechWomen, I aim to foster a strong community of female coders and future tech leaders.
