The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Learn about the implementation of new technology projects and develop my technical leadership and project management capabilities. I would like to be trained how to manage new projects and implement them as a team.
  2. Experience innovations in online payment, digital or mobile payments, e-wallet and other methods.
  3. Analyze consumer performance needs to offer new and effective products for rural regions.

Ideal Company Type

I am passionate about working with a host company where I could gain new experience in the IT and business fields. The company should have a clear strategy and a mission to solve complex challenges and bring new innovative tech projects into the field. I am interested in a company that provides mobile applications or other platforms for digital payments. I prefer a larger company where I can enjoy an active, energetic and diverse culture.

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

The mentorship program will give me a chance to meet, share and learn from women leaders in the fields of technology who are dedicated to be agents of change in their communities. I hope to learn from them about innovative new technologies they are using. The experience that I will get through project mentorship at my host company in Silicon Valley will equip me with best practices that I will replicate at home and in my workplace, especially in my remote area.

What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen host company?

I’m going to share the technical skills and experience I have gained over the 12 years that I have worked for an energy company. I have a broad knowledge of the whole energy system and have been responsible for implementing projects for remote operation of meters. Projects like this have expanded my project management skills all of which I am eager to share and expand with my host company. I will use all of the skills I have developed to be of best use to my host company. I am also ready and willing to share the history of my culture.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

I believe that upon completion of the TechWomen program I will be more confident in achieving my professional goals and have the assurance that Information Technology can be mastered by women. I look forward to gaining new experiences and knowledge from the TechWomen program and adapting it to the specific setting in my country. This will allow me to become more knowledgeable and professional in my field. Returning home, I will be able to share my new-found skills and experiences with my female colleagues and others who want to join the field. I hope that by sharing my experience I can encourage more women to explore a field which is still so new and unknown. Women in Tajikistan are extremely underrepresented in the IT sector and this type of support which I hope to provide could be substantially beneficial.
