The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Develope my technical skills in the field of data science
  2. Build-up my leadership and communication skills
  3. Trained by the pioneers in the field of data science in a well known Oil company

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Attend company-wide meetings and/or team meetings
  • Focus on leadership skills building
  • Focus on technical skills building
  • Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company
  • Have exposure to basic industry techniques

Ideal Company Type

The ideal company for my mentorship placement would be a well-known multinational oil company that uses the latest techniques applied in field of oil and gas industry and data science, with supportive enthusiastic work environment.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Ambitious
  2. Hardworking
  3. Outgoing

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

Participating in the programme will give me the chance to learn from the pioneers in this field and their expertise and support will definitely sharpen my skills. Not to mention the opportunity of training in one of the best specialized companies which will lay a positive effect on my work knowledge and will widen my prospective. Moreover, through this program I seek to improve my entrepreneurship and communication skills in addition to exchange knowledge with extraordinary women from different countries with different experiences and cultures.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

Put all what I have learned in practice and share it with my colleagues and co-workers in the oil industry. Being a live successful example of participating in the program will be inspiring to other women. In addition, conduct free workshops and courses for the youth about entrepreneurialism and leadership. Also start initiatives such as making suggestions to management to initiate information technology courses so maybe one day we at the HOO can start a new specialized data science department. Providing such courses will increase women opportunities in taking positions in the work labour therefore contribute in women empowerment.
