The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. How AI tools/models are developed and used (ML engineer's work) as well as how spots are identified, and main challenges approached.
  2. Data analysis and approaches - everything from ETL to insights and further usage of machine learning
  3. Public speaking and team leadership

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Attend company-wide meetings and/or team meetings
  • Visit an office or attend a site-visit
  • Focus on technical skills building

Ideal Company Type

My ideal company is a large company (e.g. with thousands of workers) that produces products used globally and focused on Artificial Intelligence (e.g. computer vision or tabular data). It would be a company that helps its workers to express their individuality, decision making, and creativity, and gives an opportunity to propose their vision and solutions. I enjoy working with other people around. I feel that by working in close proximity, we can inspire each other, collaborate better, and communicate effectively to optimize performance. I love working in teams but I am also very productive working individually on my own parts and responsibilities.

Programming Languages

  • Python

Additional Technical Skills

Since I do not have a professional degree in computer science or other related to my current occupation, I have been studying on my own: 1. Algorithms and data structures. 2. Machine Learning 3. Deep learning 3. Pytorch 4. Introduction to reinforcement learning

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Responsible
  2. Open-minded
  3. Diligent

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

I believe that getting experience from world tech leaders will dramatically expand my vision and potential, which will help me to solidify my future career choices. I would like to further deepen in the area of AI and research and development and bring my contribution to its development in Kazakhstan. Certainly, this program would be one of the key points in my career.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

After the program, I am planning to organize a number of experience-sharing events. Also, since I am working with students I will further spread the knowledge I gain at my current workplace and in the mentorships programs that I am involved in. I am also planning to organize a free program that will help females with diverse backgrounds to enter IT and AI areas, which was quite a challenge for me. I believe that the skill I will gain and things I will learn from my mentor will be very beneficial in delivering my knowledge more efficiently.
