What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

My professional goal is to make a significant contribution to public health by providing sustainable solutions to public health problems in Zimbabwe. TechWomen will help me appreciate advanced technologies in healthcare, which can be adopted for early disease diagnosis. The program will expose me to mentors with different cultures and expertise that I can leverage to improve my skills and become a better leader. I will also have a better appreciation of other arms of STEM (e.g., engineering and information technology) and how they can contribute to solving public health issues in Zimbabwe. TechWomen will shape me into a great leader.

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

Zimbabwe is burdened by both communicable and non-communicable diseases that rely on early detection for treatment success. There is a need to explore affordable technologies that can assist with early detection if we are going to curb these diseases. My TechWomen experience will empower me with knowledge of these technologies, which I will share with my colleagues and also implement in my country. I will also be well-positioned to mentor other young women who are pursuing STEM careers. After participation in the TechWomen program, I will be able to implement a program that provides sustainable solutions to some of our challenges.
