Adejoke Opeyemi-Ogungbire

What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen host company?

I hope to promote and support the culture of inclusion and contribute to innovations within the host company. My presence will provide an opportunity network with my communities of public health/medical professionals, African entrepreneurs and startup ecosystems, persons with disabilities, software engineers and others. I could help open opportunities for the host company to invest in new markets and increase the global GDP through access to unreached communities and offer first-hand about working with new or emerging markets in Africa.

The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship

  1. Venture Building
  2. Product management/Agile methodology
  3. Startup ecosystem building

Mentorship Characteristic

  • Identify workshops or certificate programs to further my learning after the program has ended
  • Focus on technical skills building
  • Present my current work to professionals in my industry
  • Expand on a project that I’m working on in my current role at home
  • Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.

Ideal Company Type

An ideal company for my mentorship would be a Global Tech company with strong Product Management/Agile methodology/practices, supports startup growth/ecosystem development and has a culture that promotes innovation and inclusion.

What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?

  1. Innovative
  2. Empathetic
  3. Consistent

What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?

The mentorship would afford me the opportunity to hone my skills in software product management, startup ecosystem development and acceleration/venture-building. It would afford me the opportunity to connect to TechWomen's high "net worth" networks which would be able to support our ecosystems of startups/entrepreneurs, health professionals and others. This would significantly support my goal of becoming a world-class Tech Founder, Product manager and global health/international development innovator, which is key in ensuring that the products my team and I are building are globally relevant as we would be able to learn first-hand from world-acclaimed leaders in tech & their companies

After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?

I have corps of women, adolescents, and entrepreneurs (including persons with disabilities) that I currently work with and mentor and I hope to transfer the skills I will acquire at the TechWomen program. I also have a corps of health professionals and others who volunteer for my non-profit organization, DESIRE Health Inclusive Organization. I am already working with these groups to address some of the challenges in my home country and will leverage my TechWomen experience to further enhance the products and services we offer (and/or are building) & support these communities to develop more innovative solutions.
